Blake Nelson Goerdel 27, died Saturday July17, 2010 near Round Top, Texas. Blake was born July 23, 1982 in Ft Worth Texas to David and Beverly Goerdel. He was baptized in the Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville, Texas. Blake attended several schools including Hamilton. He was a 2001 graduate of Escalante High School, Escalante Utah and a 2010 graduate of Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Phoenix, Arizona. Blake was currently living in Shelby, Texas and worked as a mechanic at Washington County Tractor in Brenham, Texas. He enjoyed all things outdoors, including snowboarding, riding four-wheelers and fishing. Blake had taken a special interest in woodworking and tooling leather. He was also gifted in the kitchen and enjoyed cooking for his friends and family. Blake had a passion for life. He loved spending time with family and friends and he had yet to meet a stranger. He was always full of useless but handy, random knowledge. Blake found a way to impact a great many lives in his short years. With his charisma, charm and contagious smile, one couldn't help but love him. Blake will always be remembered by his friends and family with love and cherished in all their memories. He was preceded in death by his father, David Goerdel, paternal grandparents, Clarence and LaVerna Goerdel, aunt, Ruth Stegemoller, and cousin, Kyle Hall. Blake is survived by his mother and step-father, Beverly and Brett Rohde, sister, Meghan Goerdel and her boyfriend Cody Wagner. Maternal grandparents, Dale and Barbara Caraway, maternal great-grandmother, Vada Gregory, uncles, Brent Caraway, John Goerdel, Tom Stegemoller, uncle and aunt, James and Lisa Goerdel and aunt and uncle, Maria and Doug Feist. He is also survived by cousins, Jessi Goerdel, Adam Stegemoller, Taylor Goerdel, Jake Goerdel and Jordan Feist. Blake also leaves behind his beloved pets and companions, Serenity and Rusty, as well as a wealth of other relatives and friends, far and wide. At the time Blake's passing is family decided to donate his corneas to Lone Star Lion Eye Bank, so now someone who could not see the world as High Sprited and Loving as Blake did will have the ability to do so Pallbearers are: Garrison Goebel, Billy Parrish, Jared Marwitz, Trace Barclay, Tyler Schmidt, Cody Carroll, Derek Luna and Jesse Walters. Honorary Pallbearers are: Jessi Goerdel, Adam Stegemoller, Taylor Goerdel, Jordan Feist, Cody Wagner, Nathan Lyman, Aaron Gardner, Jason Sellers, Clayton Landua, Cacie Wagner, Brenna Payne, Brayden Payne, Aaron Galloway, Kendra May, Cason Glezman, Staci Oglesby, J. C. Robinson, Theresa Paulson, Bree Hoffman, Jack Caldwell, J. Michael Bowerman, Tommy Ousley, Chance Brooks, Morgan Webb, and Spencer Thomas.
