Rickard (Tex) DeMille - 5/2/2010

Class of 1947

Rickard (Tex) DeMille passed away peacefully in LaVerkin, Utah on 2 May, 2010 with his loving wife Anita faithfully by his side.

He was born February 1, 1928 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Gladys Davis and Roachie DeMille.

He moved to Las Vegas, Nevada while in his youth and graduated from Las Vegas High School in 1947. After high school, Tex served a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served on the island of Hawaii where he developed a love of the gospel and the island people, which carried to his final days. Two weeks after he returned home from Hawaii, he married his high school sweetheart Anita Call.

Tex and Anita stayed in Las Vegas and owned a recreational camper business called Western Motors. After, as a direct blessing from the Lord, he was offered a position managing the LDS Employment Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Upon his retirement in 1990 as Regional Manager for the LDS Employment Centers, he and his wife moved to their farm in LaVerkin, Utah. In 1992, Tex and his wife served a two year mission in Auckland, New Zealand where they helped to establish the Auckland Employment Center. Before his health began to fail they also served two, one year missions to the St. George Temple Visitors' Center.

Rickard (Tex) DeMille lived his life serving the Lord, and instilling in his posterity that same love and value. He is survived by his wife, Anita, and his children; Rick, Sandy, Maurice, Darwin, and Bryan. He has now been reunited with his youngest son Jeffery. He will also be greatly missed by his 33 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren. With all our love, till we meet again...
